Chick-Fil-A Employees Conspired to Rob Their Own Restaurant

The store manager caved under questioning.

A Chick-fil-A manager and employee were arrested Friday in Pennsylvania after the pair allegedly attempted to fake a robbery at their own restaurant. According to The Reporter, the store manager Joseph Scott Kallatch called police to the Montegomery Mall Chick-fil-A at 1:30 a.m. claiming two robbers attacked him and forced him to give up the combination to the restaurant safe.

On the scene, Kallatch made a written statement confirming his story, but caved under further questioning. The would-be criminal mastermind revealed that he and fellow employee Michael Frederick Berstecher had staged the robbery. Berstecher made off with approximately $2,800, but returned to the scene after police called his phone. The partners in crime were arrested on counts of third-degree felony theft and a third-degree misdemeanor for making a false report.

These Chick-fil-A employee's aren't the first to try orchestrating a half-baked robbery plan. Just last week, another Pennsylvania restaurant worker admitted to conspiring to commit robbery with her nephew at a combination KFC/Taco Bell.
