Watch José Andrés Get Wasted and Make Guacamole With Seth Meyers

He also demonstrates how avocados can be thrown over a border wall

The holidays have arrived, and for many of us that means drinking more than usual — to celebrate, to better tolerate family gatherings, to cope with the current political climate, and/or all of the above. Spanish-American superchef José Andrés is in the same booze-soaked boat, as he demonstrated last night on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

The chef shows Meyers how to whip up a batch of jamon-infused margaritas, explaining they’re the “one thing that can bring America together again.” According to Andrés, the first step in making margaritas is actually taking a shot of mezcal — and you’d better stock up, because once that border wall gets built, it might be tough to get. Avocados, on the other hand, are easy enough to throw over a wall, ensuring America will have guacamole for years to come. Let’s all drink to that.
