Chick-fil-A Will Sell Its Signature Sauce at Grocery Stores for DIY Chicken Sandwich Wars

Plus, “The Great British Bake Off” gets a new host, and more news to start your day

The two flavors: “Chick-fil-A” and “Polynesian”

If you’ve ever eaten a Chick-fil-A sandwich and thought “gee, I really wish I could make a home-cooked steak taste more like this,” you’re in luck. The company announced it’s going to be selling its sauces in bottles beginning in April and May. At first the sauces will only be available in Florida at Publix, Target, Walmart, and Winn-Dixie.

While the only two sauces available for retail are Chick-fil-A and Polynesian, the company also says “Chick-fil-A customers in Florida will receive 8-ounce bottles of Chick-fil-A, Polynesian, Barbeque, Honey Mustard and Garden Herb Ranch Sauces with their catering order starting in mid-March.” Also, profits from retail bottle sales will go to the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures Scholarship Initiative, which awards scholarships to Chick-fil-A team members. Michael Patrick, principal program lead for Chick-fil-A’s Beyond The Restaurant, told CNN Business that “we’re seeing a blurring of lines between all food channels,” and CNN notes that food chains are trying to combat slow sales with expansions into the grocery aisle.

But until it shows up in your grocery store, just so you know, the “signature sauce” is a blend of honey mustard and barbecue sauce.
